Artisan made in Mexico, the traditional mezcal tasting cup is a jicara or a small cup made from the bark of the jicara fruit. The wide mouth of a jicara cup allows the alcohol to evaporate, leaving room for the full expression of the mezcal.
This set includes four glass tasting cups inspired by the jicara. Each cup has a wide mouth for full flavor absorption, and a slight wobble on the bottom to mimic the jicara cup shape.
The carafe also has a wide mouth for easy addition of infusion ingredients. Handmade out of recycled glass by artisans in Jalisco, Mexico, each piece is one-of-a-kind.
Though this set was inspired by the traditional way of tasting tequila and mezcal, experimenting with different infusion ingredients and liquors is encouraged!
For each recipe, place ingredients in the carafe. Fill with tequila or mezcal. Seal with the cork and refrigerate for 3-5 days.
